You can proceed to the next part of your course carrying your failed assessments (assessments with a status of ‘Resit’). Due to the nature of these assessments, they cannot be re-assessed during the resit period, and you will be required to resit these during the next academic year.
Please be advised that the following points will apply to your resit assessment(s) and module(s):
- You will not be able to attain a mark higher than the overall module pass mark in any module where you are re-sitting an assessment. Your actual assessment mark will be recorded and the overall module will be capped at the module pass mark. Please refer to course handbook for module pass mark.
- If the mark you achieve at resit is lower than what you achieved at your first attempt, the resit mark will still be recorded.
- If you fail to attempt your resit assessment a mark of “0” will be recorded.
- The 5 working day late submission rule DOES NOT apply to resit work or to work submitted as a first attempt during a resit period.
What do I need to do now?
- We advise you to read the Resit Information regarding undertaking your assessment(s) in the next academic session.
- It is your responsibility to contact your Module Leader about your assessment(s).
- You will be required to re-enrol on your course. You will receive an email to your student account confirming that you are eligible to use the online enrolment service. Further information on how to do this can be found on the Enrolment website.
International Students
Study Length May be Extended – As you have not yet successfully completed all the assessments assigned to you during your last period of study you may not have enough time on your current visa to complete your studies in the UK. If you are concerned that this may be the case, you should contact Immigration & International Student Advice Team.
