Information for International Students - Exiting

If you have chosen to exit from your course early, or the decision of the assessment board has been to exit you from your course early, the University is required by law to report to the Home Office that you are no longer studying with us. As a result, the Home Office will undertake mandatory visa curtailment procedures. You will also be prohibited from working in the UK from the date of exit.

If you are eligible to attend a graduation ceremony and are required to return home then you will need to apply for entry clearance as a general visitor to return to the UK to attend. Further information can be found on the Visitor Visas page.

If you have not left the UK
As you are no longer studying you are not allowed to remain in the UK and must return home. You may find the information on the coming to the end of your studies pages useful to prepare for returning home. You should seek advice from Immigration and International Student Advice immediately in order to safeguard your immigration status.
