First Attempts and Repeats

You have had extenuating circumstances approved for assessment(s) with a status of ‘First Attempt’ and can now sit these as if for the first time at the next available opportunity (uncapped). Please note, if you are already repeating the assessment(s), the modules will be capped at the module pass mark. Please refer to the course handbook for module pass mark.

Module(s) with a status of ‘Repeat’ will need to be repeated during the next academic session.

Please be advised that the following points will apply to your repeat assessment(s) and module(s):

  • You will not be able to attain a mark higher than the overall module pass mark in any repeat modules. Your actual assessment mark will be recorded and the overall module will be capped at the module pass mark. Please refer to course handbook for module pass mark.

  • If the mark you achieve at repeat is lower than what you achieved at your first attempt, the repeat mark will still be recorded.

  • If you fail to attempt your repeat module a mark of “0” will be recorded.

Please be aware that there will be implications for your continued studies if you do not complete required coursework or sit your exams.

What do I need to do now?

International Students

Study Length May be Extended – As you have not yet successfully completed all the assessments assigned to you during your last period of study and you may not have enough time on your current visa to complete your studies in the UK. If you are concerned that this may be the case, you should contact your Immigration & International Student Advice Team
