Student ID Card Collection 2024/25

The University of South Wales Student SMART ID card is multi-purpose and acts as your University identification, Library card, Door Entry card and allows you access to University services and facilities.

Please note that a student status letter will be suitable to use whilst you wait to collect your student ID card.

You will be issued with a student ID card in the first year of your course. Your ID card will remain valid for the duration of your course and will not be re-issued annually.  The expiry date is shown on the card.

If your course is based at a University campus:

Cardiff, Newport and Glyntaff and Treforest based students

The student ID cards will be available from the Advice Zone at the relevant Campuses following your enrolment.

  • those who enrol between January 6th - 10th will be able to collect their Card from Monday 13th January.
  • those who enrol between 13th - 17th will be able to collect their Card from the following Monday 20th January.

This pattern will continue throughout January, February, March and April. ID Cards will be available by the Monday following your enrolment date.

If you are returning to University to continue with your studies this year, the student ID card issued to you in the first year of your course is valid until the expiry date shown on the card.  

If you think this expiry is incorrect or needs extending please contact your Advice Zone.
